I would that I could take your pain
and see you smiling once again

banish your demons erase your fears

I would that I could bleed for you
instead of watch what you’re going through
I wish that I could pave the way
remove the bumps from every day

I would that I could shelter you
and take all darkness from your view,
but God loves you better than me
the way to make you best He sees

So down thorny paths He lets you go
and life’s pains he lets you know
Then provides a way to take all pain,
and then full joy we all shall gain.
